What's The Focus?

The Autodidact Symposium is a different take on the average unschooling conference. Our main focuses are the adulthood transition and the young adult years of unschooling; but similar to other conferences, we also cover the parenting and family aspects of unschooling and have activities for children.

The Symposium's twist– The Mentor Connection– is a project created for passionate autodidacts who are seeking guidance, support, and wisdom from more experienced individuals who support the unschooling lifestyle– including entrepreneurship, filmmaking, writing, relationships, artistry, college as an unschooler, sustainable farming, travel, and designing a multitude of projects, to name a few!

What Can I expect?

The Symposium offers mentorship, inspiration, and support to passionate young people while also informing novice unschoolers about the movement and bringing like-minded families and friends together for a weekend of fun, excitement, friendship, learning, and growth.

Unschooled children, teens, young adults and even just passionate people will be exposed to an abundance of resources to aid them in their goals, dreams, and ideas. Whether it be independence, personal projects, big challenges, an interest in college, or a craving for adventure, they will find enthusiastic assistance at The Autodidact Symposium!

Parents will find answers to many questions about the unschooling philosophy, especially those in search of a new way of thinking, a change in lifestyle, or proof from grown unschoolers.

A weekend full of fireside chats, dancing, panels, workshops, presentations, community, and activities for all ages awaits you and your family!

Join us for the first annual Autodidact Symposium for inspiration, creativity, equality, learning, growth, and a circle of new friends!
